COMMUNITY NOTICE: The 2009 Northwest Territories Forest Fire Season started May 1.  The Territorial Duty Officer requests that all residents and visitors of the area use CAUTION when starting a campfire.
 
                         
                         
CURRENT FIRE SITUATION: The forests in the Sahtu are extremely dry. Please be careful while out in the bush. Make sure that your campfire is cold to the touch before leaving. Also be careful with cigarettes when smoking in the forest.  For more information or to report a forest fire please call:
